Prayer is at the heart of life at Glastonbury Abbey. Each day, the monastic community gathers to praise God, to listen, and to hold the needs of the world in prayer. All are welcome to join us.

Mass at Glastonbury Abbey

The Eucharist is the heart of our common prayer. All are welcome to join the monastic community for Mass, whether in person or online.

Mass Schedule*

Monday– Saturday at 12:00noon
Sunday at 9:30 am

For those unable to attend in person, Mass is livestreamed on our YouTube channel and via Facebook.

 

Daily Prayer of the Monks

In addition to Mass, the monks gather throughout the day for the Liturgy of the Hours — psalms, scripture, and silence offered in prayer for the Church and the world.

Prayer Times*

Monday through Saturday:
6:30 a.m. - Vigils (end of night prayer)
7:45 a.m. - Lauds (morning praise)
12:00 noon - Mass
5:15 p.m. - Vespers (evening prayer)
7:45 p.m. - Compline (night prayer) Monday - Friday
7:45 p.m. - Vigils   Saturday, only

Sundays:
6:30 a.m. - Vigils (end of night prayer)
7:30 a.m. - Lauds
9:30 a.m. - Mass
12:45 p.m. - Midday Prayer
5:15 p.m. - Vespers
7:45 p.m. - Compline

All are welcome to join us for these times of prayer, regardless of religious background. Books are provided so that all may follow along with the sung prayers of the Hours.  Visitors are also welcome to spend time on the Abbey grounds — to walk the labyrinth, visit the herb garden, or pray the Stations of the Cross.
